Class Dojo

I wanted to tell you about a class management tool I am implementing in our classroom this year called Class Dojo. It is a website that allows teachers to give students immediate feedback on positive behaviors (I will not be addressing negative behavior using this website).

My goal is for this program to motivate students to work hard and strive to work cooperatively, effectively, and independently, both in groups, and as a whole class. Students will be rewarded DOJO DOLLARS for the points they receive to “purchase” class coupons. Such as, homework passes, special seating, use of a pen etc.

One of the great features of Class Dojo is that it allows me to send you a “behavior and skills report” every Friday by email.  My hope is that this will bring you and me closer together, and help you better understand the progress of your child on a week to week basis. I know you will be proud to see the great behaviors they are displaying. This is one tool that I will be using to assess positive behaviors, but not the only way! My favorite part of the app is the messenger component which is a quick way to get in touch with me. I check this often!

A form will be sent home during the first week of school so I can get your email address to send an invite. You will need to respond to the invite to confirm your account and then you will be all set up!

I hope you take advantage of this fantastic program!
